Funding Opportunities

Students can apply for PhD scholarships from the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). The FCT scholarship provides a net salary of 1.309 Euros per month and covers the PhD tuition fees.

Students can be employed at Técnico as Teaching Assistant and receive a monthly salary. In this case, PhD students are automatically eligible for the “Prémio Brito Camacho”, which provides additional financial support, making the net month salary equivalent to the FCT scholarship and covering the PhD tuition fees.

Students can be hired as researchers at one of the Research Centers at Técnico. In this scenario, PhD students may be exempt from paying half of the PhD tuition fees.
